  • 1 kg meat (gyros meat)
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup crème fraîche or creme legere
  • 1 bottle sauce (cocktail sauce)
  • 1 bag cheese, grated (for gratinating)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the gyros meat for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  3. While the meat cooks, mix the whipped cream, crème fraîche, and cocktail sauce together. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer the cooked meat to a baking dish. Pour the cream sauce over it and sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
  5. Bake on the middle rack for 20 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.
  6. Serve with rice or baguette and salad.
