Canapes with Bacon and Prunes

Canapé sandwiches with prunes baked in bacon will be a spectacular snack on the festive table.

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Rye bread – 2 pieces
  • Bacon (raw smoked or smoked-boiled) – 4 strips
  • Prunes (dried) – 8 pcs.
  • Olives and/or olives – 8 pcs.

How to make bacon-wrapped prune canapes:

Directions

  1. Wrap the washed and dried prunes with strips of bacon. (I had long strips, so one strip of bacon was enough for two prunes.)
  2. Put the prunes in bacon in a baking pan and bake in the oven at 200-250 degrees until the bacon is browned about 10 minutes. You can secure the bacon with wooden toothpicks to prevent the bacon from unfolding. Bacon-wrapped prunes can also be fried in a skillet on the stovetop.
  3. Cut the canapé bread into small squares, no crusts.
  4. On the fat formed after baking the bacon and prunes, fry the bread slices on both sides.
  5. This can be done on the stove or by placing a pan with bread in a hot oven for five minutes.
  6. Assemble the canapes in the following order: a slice of bread, prunes in bacon, then olive or olive.
  7. If you are planning a festive serving of canapes with prunes in bacon, then simple wooden toothpicks or sticks are better replaced with elegant skewers or canapes.
