Ingredients

  • 8 slices wholemeal toast bread
  • 2 egg (s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, medium hot
  • 200 g Gouda cheese, rated
  • 40 g butter
  • 4 slices ham, cooked

Instructions

  1. Toast the 8 slices of bread until golden, about 2-3 minutes
  2. Beat the 2 eggs with salt and pepper until frothy
  3. Mix the grated Gouda cheese into the egg mixture
  4. Brush one side of each bread slice with butter
  5. Cover 4 slices of toast with ham
  6. Spread the cheese-egg mixture on top of the ham
  7. Top with the remaining 4 slices of toast, butter-side up
  8. Bake in a hot oven at 200°C (400°F) for 2-3 minutes until golden
