Ingredients

  • 450 g round beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large onion (s)
  • 120 g cheddar cheese
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 250 g flour
  • 750 g breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and squeeze the garlic clove.
  2. Season the meat with salt, pepper and garlic. Mix well.
  3. Halve the onion and then cut out large rings. Cut the cheddar into square slices.
  4. Fill each onion ring with a little mince. Place a cheddar slice on each. Cover with mince and press down well.
  5. Put the flour and breadcrumbs in a bowl each. Whisk the eggs in another bowl.
  6. First dip the filled onion rings one after the other in egg, flour and breadcrumbs. For a crisp breading, just dip it one more time in the egg and breadcrumbs.
  7. Fry the rings in a deep fryer or saucepan. Drain on paper towels. Serve with your favorite sauces.
