Chicken Breast in Sweet and Sour Sauce

Sweet and sour chicken breast is a delicious addition to your favorite side dish. The combination of chicken fillet and sweet and sour sauce will not leave indifferent any of your family members. Delicious and simple!

Ingredients

  • Chicken Breast – 500 Grams
  • Starch – 2 Teaspoons
  • Flour – 2 Teaspoons
  • Soy Sauce – 250 Milliliters (150 ml – for marinating the breast, 100 – for the sauce)
  • Sweet pepper – 2 pieces
  • Onions – 1 Piece
  • Honey – 3 Teaspoons
  • Ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger – 40 Grams
  • Garlic – 2 Cloves
  • Water – 0.5 cups
  • Vegetable oil – 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 Pinch (to taste)

Directions

  1. Wash the chicken breast and separate the meat from the bone. Cut the fillet into small pieces.
  2. Mix flour with starch, add this mixture to the chicken pieces. Mix so that all the pieces are evenly covered with the mixture.
  3. Pour soy sauce into a bowl with chicken fillet so that all the pieces are covered, and send to the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  4. In the meantime, peel the onion and chop it finely. Pepper, washed and peeled from seeds, cut into strips.
  5. In a small amount of vegetable oil, fry the peppers and onions (until the onions are transparent).
  6. In a deep bowl, combine the soy sauce, ketchup, honey, grated ginger and garlic squeezed through a press. Mix everything carefully.
  7. After two hours, we take out the chicken fillet from the refrigerator and fry for 5 minutes in a pan with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  8. Then we send fried onions and peppers to the pan, add the prepared sauce. Mix well.
  9. Add water, mix, close the lid and simmer for about 8-10 minutes. Serve with your favorite side dish, sprinkled with sesame seeds.
