Ingredients

  • 150 g cheese, e.. cheddar, Swiss cheese (Gruyere oriinal) or Austrian carrot belly
  • 1 large chilli pepper (s) or approx. 50 - 55 g jalapeños, deseeded and chopped into small pieces
  • 1 egg (s)
  • some pepper
  • some salt, to taste
  • some chili powder, optional
  • 4 tablespoon flour
  • 4 tablespoon breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Grate the cheese and mix with the finely chopped chillies or jalapeños. Divide the mixture into 12 portions and shape each into a nugget.
  2. Whisk the egg with pepper, salt to taste, and chili powder if using. Dip each nugget in the egg mixture, then coat with flour, dip again in egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat to 170°C (338°F) and fry the nuggets for 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown on the outside and the cheese has melted inside.
