Ingredients

  • 1 kg berries, mixed, frozen
  • 1 vanilla pod (s)
  • 100 ml syrup (gingerbread syrup, Monin)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 75 ml lime juice
  • 700 ml vodka

Instructions

  1. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise. On high heat, bring the frozen berries, vanilla pod, cinnamon, and gingerbread syrup to a boil for about 5 minutes. Stir in the sugar. Remove from heat and let steep overnight (about 12 hours).
  2. The next day, return the mixture to high heat and bring to a boil again for about 5 minutes. Remove and discard the vanilla pod. Add more sugar to taste if desired, then remove from heat and let cool for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. Use an immersion blender to purée the cooled berry mixture thoroughly until smooth.
  4. Stir in the lime juice and vodka. Pour into bottles and seal.
  5. Serve ice cold as a liqueur, or warm a small portion over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes and pour over ice.
