- 500 g sweet potato (s)
- salt
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 30 g butter
- cinnamon
- Nutmeg, freshly grated
- 0.25 teaspoon ¼ chili powder or cayenne pepper
- some ginger, freshly grated, optional

- Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them roughly into pieces. Then cover and cook in boiling salted water for 20-25 minutes. Then drain and let steam briefly in an open saucepan over a mild heat.
- In another saucepan, briefly bring the milk, butter, a little salt and the spices to the boil. Finely mash the sweet potatoes in a pot with a potato press or - even better - with a potato masher. Stir in the still hot milk mixture with a whisk until you have a fluffy, creamy mashed potato.
- The preparation of mashed sweet potatoes and traditional mashed potatoes is very similar, but not identical. There are a few processes to consider so that it turns out to be light, creamy and tasty.
