Ingredients

  • 8 slices toast
  • butter
  • 8 slices cheese (Emmentaler or Gruyère, thinly sliced)
  • 4 slices ham, cooked (not sliced too thinly)
  • 4 egg (s)
  • salt
  • Pepper, black, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Brush the toast slices with butter. Cover 4 slices with alternating 1 slice of cheese, ham and again cheese, then cover each with 1 slice of toasted bread.
  2. Heat the butter in a pan. Roast the sandwiches on both sides until golden brown.
  3. Meanwhile, fry 4 fried eggs in butter in another pan.
  4. Now there is an egg for every sandwich. Salt, pepper and serve hot.
