- 250 g mararine or butter
- 200 g suar, possibly more (up to 250 )
- 5 egg (s)
- 500g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 3 packs vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 6 tablespoon apple juice
- cinnamon

- First of all, make a batter. To do this, stir in the margarine and sugar until foamy, then stir in the eggs one at a time, if possible for one minute per egg, then add the next egg. Sprinkle in 1 bag of vanilla sugar.
- Mix the flour, baking powder and a pinch of cinnamon and stir into the dough spoon by spoon. In between add the liquid. The lemon juice completely, apple juice by feeling. The dough should be viscous, but not too runny, otherwise the apple pieces will sink.
- Peel the apple, remove the core and dice. The cubes should have an edge length of 0.5 - max. 1 cm, do not cut huge pieces! Fold the apples into the finished batter.
- Now grease a spring or Gugelhupf tin well and fill in the batter. Mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 bags of vanilla sugar in a small bowl. Now add a very small amount of water (less than 1 teaspoon) so that a crumbly mass forms, which you can cut into small pieces. These pieces are now well distributed on the cake batter. Bake at 180 ° C (fan oven) for 50 - 60 minutes.
- The cake tastes apple-like, not a bit dry and the cinnamon-sugar crust gives it a fine note.
