Ingredients

  • 300 g spelled flour
  • 2 tablespoon grain sugar or grape sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 100 ml oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 100 ml milk
  • 125 g low-fat quark
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 Table spoons milk
  • some cores, e.g., poppy seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top heat and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the egg and mix the yolks with 2 tablespoons of milk for later brushing the croissants and set aside. Put all remaining ingredients (except for the kernels) in a mixing bowl and stir with a dough hook for 5 minutes until a smooth ball of dough is formed.
  3. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface and roll out a flat circle with the help of a rolling pin. Now carefully cut pieces of cake into the dough circle with a knife and roll up the triangles starting with the broad side to form a croissant and bend them into a slightly sickle shape.
  4. Place on the baking sheet, brush with the milk and egg yolk mixture and sprinkle with the core mixture as required. Bake for 15 minutes and enjoy with savory or sweet toppings!
