Ingredients
Mackerel – 500 Grams (fillet)
Rice – 2 Glasses
Ground chili pepper – 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric – 1 Teaspoon
Zira – 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt – 1/2 Teaspoon
Onions – 2 Pieces (1 pc. For gravy, 1 pc. For dressing)
Cashew Nuts – 25 Grams
Raisins – 25 Grams
Coriander – 1 Teaspoon
Saffron – 1 Pinch
Ginger – 30 Grams
Garlic – 1 Clove
Tomato – 1 Piece
Yogurt – 2 Tbsp. spoons
Poppy – 1 teaspoon
Mint – 1 Bunch
Lemon juice – 3 Tbsp. spoons
Directions
Wash the fish, cut it. Add chili pepper, turmeric, cumin and salt. Stir well and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
Peel the onion, cut into half rings and fry in vegetable oil along with raisins and cashews.
In the same skillet, fry the fish until golden brown. About 3 minutes on each side.
Boil the rice with saffron and coriander until tender. Add lemon juice to it.
Fry the other half of the onion in vegetable oil.
Add finely chopped mint, ginger, garlic, yogurt, poppy seeds and tomato. Simmer the gravy until the tomatoes are tender.
Add fish to this sauce and simmer for a minute.
Remove the fish and place the rice in the gravy. Then lay out the fish. And again a layer of rice.
Sprinkle with roasted onions, raisins and nuts on top and serve.
