Ingredients

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 2 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • 2 medium onion (s), finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup, hot (spicy)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, extra hot
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram, rubbed, alternatively bunch freshly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon basil, rubbed, alternatively bunch freshly chopped
  • salt
  • 4 tablespoon oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the onions, peel and chop the garlic clove.
  2. Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper from the mill.
  3. NOTE: Dried (rubbed) herbs are used here. If you have fresh herbs available, then alternatively add 1 bunch of each, finely chopped.
  4. Shape the dough into oval patties, makes about 6 pieces.
  5. Heat the oil in the pan, add the meatballs and fry for about 10 minutes on both sides until they are brown and crispy.
  6. Potato salad and a cold beer go well with this.
