Ingredients

  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 200 ml beer, (Altbier)
  • 1 apple, not too small
  • 15 g butter
  • 1 onion (s), red
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion and apple, finely dice the onion and cut the apple into larger pieces. Melt the butter and dissolve the honey in it, sauté the finely chopped onions, then deglaze with a little Altbier. Stir in the vegetable stock and pour in the rest of the Altbier, add the diced apple pieces and simmer or reduce the sauce for about 10 minutes. Puree the not yet dissolved apple pieces and the onion with the hand strainer, so it is no longer necessary to thicken the sauce.
