Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees circulating air or 175 degrees electric stove.
  2. Beat the softened butter or margarine with sugar, vanilla sugar and egg until frothy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in.
  3. Spread the dough in a greased cake tin (28 cm).
  4. For the filling, stir the softened butter or margarine with sugar, egg yolk, salt and vanilla sugar until frothy. Stir in lemon juice, pudding powder and finally the quark.
  5. Beat the egg whites very stiff and fold carefully into the mixture.
  6. Pour this onto the dough base and bake in the preheated oven on the bottom shelf for about 75 minutes.
  7. Then let it sit for about 15 minutes in the switched-off oven.
  8. It is best to let the cake cool in the pan. However, it tastes even better if it is slightly warm!

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
