Ingredients

  • 10 salted herring (s), pickled in oil
  • 1 large onion (s)
  • 1 large apple
  • 3 large carrots, cooked, sliced
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 6 juniper berries
  • 100 ml cream
  • 100 ml milk, (whole milk)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 2 tablespoon parsley, freshly chopped

Instructions

  1. Pat the herring dry, cut into bite-sized pieces, cut the onion into rings, cut the apple into thin slices, put everything together in a large bowl, add the spices and cream-milk mixture. Mix well together and let steep in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours.
  2. Baked potatoes go well with it.
