Ingredients

  • 2 packs cheese (e.g. Emmentaler), grated
  • 1 mug tzatziki
  • 0.5 ½ bottle sauce (garlic sauce), to taste
  • 2 large vegetable onions
  • clove some (s) garlic, also to taste
  • 1 pck. Pizza dough with tomato sauce, from the refrigerated shelf
  • 1 pack meat (gyros)

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into long strips. Set aside about half the strips without cooking. Chop the garlic.
  2. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the gyros meat and sear for 2-3 minutes. Add the chopped garlic and the onion strips you didn't set aside, and fry for 2-3 minutes more until the onions are soft.
  3. While the meat cooks, place the pizza dough on a wire rack with its baking paper, positioning it so heat can circulate all around the dough.
  4. Spread the tzatziki over the pizza dough. Layer the raw onion strips on top, then place the seared meat mixture in the center and spread it outward slightly. Drizzle with garlic sauce to taste. Sprinkle about half the grated cheese over the top.
  5. Fold the dough up and around the filling to form a pocket shape. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the folded pocket.
  6. Bake at 150-180°C (302-356°F) until the dough is crispy and golden, following the baking time recommended on the pizza dough package.
