Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons, heaped oregano, dried
  • 2 teaspoons, heaped thyme, dried
  • 2 teaspoons, heaped basil, dried
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped rosemary, dried
  • 3 teaspoons, heaped paprika powder, noble sweet or slightly spicy
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 600 g beef from the hip or nuts
  • olive oil
  • some clarified butter for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix the herbs together. Add paprika powder and, if desired, salt and pepper. Mix the seasoning mixture well.
  2. Cut the meat into fine strips (approx. 3 - 4 cm long). Quarter the onion and cut into fine strips, add to the meat. Press the garlic and pour over the meat with the olive oil. In addition the seasoning mixture. Mix well together and let steep in the refrigerator for at least 3 - 4 hours.
  3. I fry the meat in clarified butter - I think you can heat it more than olive oil. At the end of the frying process, I add a little olive oil to the dish if you like. Very tasty with freshly baked flatbread and salad.
  4. I also do without onion or garlic powder and prefer to add it fresh to the marinade. Cumin is also found in many spice blends. Unfortunately, I can`t take him and therefore let him out.
