Ingredients

  • 500 g potato (s), floury cookin
  • 150 g ham or bacon, diced
  • 3 spring onion (s)
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • 1 can white beans with soup greens
  • 1 tablespoon stock, instant
  • water
  • 1 stalk savory
  • 1 stalk lovage, if present
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic
  • sausage

Instructions

  1. Peel the potato, cut into cubes, cut the ham into small cubes and the onion into thin rings. Sauté the diced ham and onion rings in the lard, add the diced potatoes, salt, savory and lovage and fill up with the water with the instant stock so that the potatoes are just covered. Be careful when salting, as the broth and ham already contain salt. Simmer everything for about 15 minutes and then add the beans. Let everything boil again briefly and then let it steep for about 10 minutes, adding the filler (Wiener, Bockwurst or also meat sausage) if desired and let it steep.
  2. I like to serve pickled cucumbers.
