- Peel and chop the onions.
- Cut herring fillets into small pieces. The fillet must be free of skin and bones.
- Put onions and herring into a jar.
- For the marinade, combine mayonnaise with mustard, finely chopped herbs, season with black pepper, mix.
- Mix the herring with the marinade. Cover the jar with a lid and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
- A delicious homemade herring appetizer is ready.
