  • Boiled eggs (cut into circles) – 2 pcs.
  • Wine red vinegar – 2 teaspoon
  • Tomato puree – 3 tbsp
  • Sherry dry – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.25 teaspoon.
  • Ground white pepper – 0.125 teaspoon.
  • Salted butter (softened) – 2 tbsp
  • Dill – 4 branches

Herring Sandwich Instructions

  1. Cut the herring fillet into 2.5 cm pieces and place in a bowl.
  2. In another small bowl, combine chopped onions, red wine vinegar, tomato puree, sherry, salt, and white pepper. Pour herring with this marinade.
  3. Grease slices of bread with butter. Place the herring fillets on the bread.
  4. Put boiled egg circles and red onion rings on top of the herring. Decorate the herring sandwich with dill sprigs.
