Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes and then make puree out of them, mix in the quark, sour cream, eggs, flour and salt. Stir it nice and smooth with the mixer.
  2. Prepare the bread dough (500g) as described on the package. After it has risen, roll it out onto a paper-lined baking tray. Spread the potato curd mixture on the bread dough and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  3. Leave out the bacon or belly meat in a pan and distribute the cubes over the mixture.
  4. The whole thing is now in the oven preheated to 200 degrees and baked for about 30 minutes. Until he just gets a little brown.
  5. The coffee that is drunk with it is of course a must in Hessen.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
