Hot Sandwich (Sandwich) with Sweet Pepper and Cheese

These sandwiches always look delicious. Make a delicious hot sandwich with grilled red peppers, Swiss cheese, and aromatic basil.

Ingredients

  • Vinaigrette sauce (store-bought or self-made) – 1 tbsp
  • White bread – 2 slices
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Sweet, red pepper (fried, canned; or oven-baked and peeled) – a few pieces
  • Cheese (e.g. mozzarella) – 2 slices (about 30 g each)
  • Olive oil

Directions

  1. Spread the sauce on one side of one slice of bread. Top with basil leaves (if desired), roasted bell peppers, and cheese slices and cover with a second slice of bread.
  2. Lightly brush both sides of the sandwich with olive oil.
  3. Preheat a nonstick skillet well over medium heat. Cook the sandwich for 4-5 minutes on each side (until the bread is browned and the cheese is melted). Cut the finished sandwich in half.
