Instructions

  1. Drain the cherries in a colander. Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. Stir in the soft margarine. Mix the flour, cocoa, cinnamon and baking powder and stir in alternately with the red wine and creme fraiche. Finally fold in the chocolate sprinkles.
  2. Grease a baking sheet (approx. 20 x 40 cm) and dust with flour.
  3. Pour the dough into the mold and smooth it out.
  4. Spread the drained cherries on the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C (fan oven) for about 30-40 minutes (make a stick test).
  5. In the meantime, mix the cream cheese with the yoghurt, vanilla sugar, sugar and cinnamon well and place covered in the refrigerator. Let the finished cake cool down in the tin and remove it from the tin. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Brush the cooled cake with the prepared cream and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles.
  6. The cake can be served straight away, but it tastes even better if it has been in the refrigerator overnight.

Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling.
