  1. Pour the currant liqueur into the champagne flute. Then carefully top up with the sparkling wine.
  2. Variation: Top up the currant liqueur with ice-cold dry white wine. This simple version is no longer called Kir Royal, but simply Kir. It is more noble to pour champagne instead of sparkling wine.
