Ingredients

  • 1 turnip (s)
  • 2 large carrots
  • 3 small potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the turnip, potatoes and carrots and cook in unsalted water until soft.
  2. Pour off the water and puree everything.
  3. Add the lard and stir in and season to taste with salt, pepper and a little grated nutmeg.
  4. It is also possible to replace the lard with butter.
  5. Norwegian dishes such as pinnekjøtt (cured lamb rib, family rib or tynnribbe (pork roast from the rib) go well with this.
  6. But otherwise it goes well with all lamb, turkey and pork dishes.
