Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoon, heaped oatmeal, tender as a flower
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 pinch (s) cinnamon
  • 2 handfuls walnut kernels
  • 1 banana (s)
  • maple syrup, approx. 1 - 2 tablespoon, optional

Instructions

  1. Put the oat flakes in a saucepan with the water, a pinch of salt and a pinch of cinnamon and bring to the boil. Stir every now and then.
  2. In the meantime, chop the walnut kernels as needed.
  3. When the porridge is boiling, take the saucepan off the heat, stir in the walnuts and let stand covered for about 5 minutes. Stir every now and then.
  4. Peel the banana, cut into small pieces and stir in together with 1 - 2 tablespoons of maple syrup (more to taste) at the end.
  5. The amount makes about 2 large servings or 4 rather small ones.
  6. That was my first porridge and I am very grateful for further porridge ideas.
