Ingredients

  • 300 g fish, (herrin herrin)
  • 1 large onion (s)
  • 2 apples
  • 5 cucumber (s), (pickles) and some liquid
  • 3 carnation (s)
  • 5 juniper berries
  • 1 bay leaf
  • pepper
  • 100 ml cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 0.5 tablespoon ½ mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Cut the herring fillets into pieces. Peel the onion and cut into rings. Core, eighth and slice the apples. Cut the pickles into slices.
  2. Put everything in a bowl and season with cloves, juniper, bay leaves and pepper.
  3. Then add the vinegar water, cream, milk and mayonnaise and stir everything together.
  4. Let it steep for at least 3 hours.
  5. We also have jacket potatoes.
  6. The amounts of onions, apples and pickles can be varied according to taste. Sometimes I replace the pepper with peppercorns.
