Ingredients

  • 500 g flour, whole wheat flour or dark wheat flour
  • 375 grams kefir
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 g sunflower seeds
  • 1 cube yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Heat the kefir slightly, melt the butter and honey in it, dissolve the yeast in it. Put the flour in a bowl, add the kefir mixture and the salt, the sugar and the sunflower seeds (they will be tastier if they are toasted in a pan without fat). Now knead into a smooth dough. Let rise for 30-45 minutes (preferably in a peng bowl)
  2. Butter a loaf pan or line it with baking paper, add the dough and bake for approx. 45 minutes at 175 ° -180 °.
  3. Then take the bread out of the box and let it brown again for approx. 5-10 minutes. If you like, you can use pumpkin seeds, nuts or sprinkle poppy seeds on the bread instead of the sunflower seeds.
