Ingredients

  • 750 ml white wine, dry
  • 750 ml rose wine
  • ml 1,500 red wine (Bordeaux)
  • 300 g suar
  • 1 lemon (s), untreated
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 5 carnation (s)
  • 2 star anise
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ allspice

Instructions

  1. Grate the zest from the untreated lemon.
  2. Pour 750 ml dry white wine, 750 ml rose wine, and 1,500 ml red wine (Bordeaux) into a large pot.
  3. Add 300 g sugar, the grated lemon zest, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 pinch nutmeg, 5 carnations, 2 star anise, and 0.5 teaspoon allspice.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove from heat, cover the pot, and let steep at room temperature for 1-2 days.
  6. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
  7. Pour into clean bottles, filling to just below the brim, and seal immediately.
  8. Store in a cool, dark place; the mixture will keep for 3-4 weeks.
