Ingredients

  • 250 g peanuts, finely chopped or
  • 250 g peanut cream, with whole peanut pieces
  • 0.5 liter ½ chicken broth
  • 0.5 liter ½ milk or cream
  • Salt and pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 teaspoons chives, cut into rolls

Instructions

  1. The peanuts are a discovery of the Incas. They not only ate them, but also gave them to the grave of their dead and depicted them as a decorative motif on pots. The Spanish conquerors brought the peanuts to Europe.
  2. Put the peanuts, broth and milk in a heavy saucepan. Cook everything at medium temperature for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Simmer gently for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with chives.
