Ingredients

  • 1 cup pearl barley, medium-sized, measured dry
  • 1 egg (s), whisked
  • 50 g cheese, finely rated (medium-aed Gouda or Parmesan)
  • 1 onion (s), finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • possibly carrot (s) or grated celeriac
  • possibly parsley, chopped
  • Sunflower oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. A coffee pot serves as a mug.
  2. Cook the pearl barley according to the instructions on the packet. Then mix all the ingredients together well. If you like, you can add a little chopped parsley and fry the onion cubes a little beforehand. Then shape patties with moist hands that are not too thin and fry them in portions over medium heat until golden brown.
