Instructions

  1. Core the pears with the help of an apple cutter, cut in half and drizzle the cut surfaces with lemon juice.
  2. Bring the brown sugar, butter and water to the boil in a large pan. Place the pears in the mixture, cut side down, and caramelize over medium heat for about 5 minutes until brown. Turn over and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Put one half of the pear on each plate and pour a little sauce over the pears. Place 1 scoop of ice cream on each of the pear halves. My blueberry groats from the DB are ideal as a mirror for the plate.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
