Perlotto With Mushrooms and Green Peas

Perlotto with mushrooms and green peas is ordinary pearl barley with an unusual taste! How delicious it is! The dish turns out to be satisfying but at the same time tender, with an amazing texture and delicious aromas!

Ingredients

  • Pearl barley – 1 glass
  • Mushrooms (champignons) – 200 g
  • Green peas (frozen) – 200 g
  • Small onions – 2 pcs.
  • Fresh thyme (leaves) – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 2-3 cloves
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Hot water

Directions

  1. We prepare products. Soak the barley for several hours.
  2. Remove coarse twigs from the thyme.
  3. Cut the garlic into small cubes.
  4. Mushrooms – in slices.
  5. Lightly fry the thyme and garlic in a little oil.
  6. Add mushrooms and fry until tender.
  7. Chop the onion.
  8. We add it in a small amount of oil.
  9. Add barley without water.
  10. Stir until all the oil is absorbed.
  11. Add a ladle of hot water and stir until the pearl barley absorbs all the water.
  12. Add water in portions several times until the barley is ready.
  13. Salt. Add frozen green peas and cook for a couple of minutes.
  14. Add mushrooms, mix and simmer perlotto with mushrooms and green peas for a couple of minutes.
  15. Perlotto with mushrooms and green peas is ready!
