- 1 ½ cup basmati rice e.g., Tilda
- 3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon, leveled salt
- 1 piece (s) butter

- Put all ingredients in a coated (important) saucepan. Bring everything to the boil and simmer for 45 minutes so that a golden crust forms.
- Turn out onto a plate and serve.
- Goes very well with lamb and poultry dishes with sauce, e.g. curries.
