Instructions

  1. Twist the physalis out of the flower and cut in half. Layer with the brown sugar and the sliced vanilla pod in a sealable glass and pour vodka over it.
  2. Place in a bright but not sunny place and shake every day until the sugar has dissolved. Let it steep for a total of 6-8 weeks, then pour through a sieve, fill into bottles and close.
  3. Tip: The physalis from the alcohol taste great with vanilla ice cream or with other fruit in jam.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
