Ingredients

  • 1 tongue (s) beef (cured)
  • 2 onions)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • pimento
  • 0.5 piece ½ (s) butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash the cured beef tongue well and cook it in plenty of water with the addition of the spices. This usually takes 3 hours.
  2. Then skin the tongue, cut off the fat generously, cut into finger-thick slices and keep warm.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and lightly brown. Place the tongue on a plate, pour the butter over it and serve.
  4. We especially like fresh asparagus and boiled potatoes. The tongue is also very suitable as cold cuts.
