Instructions

  1. To prepare, drain the sour cherries well in a sieve, pat dry if necessary. Collect some cherry juice for the decoration.
  2. For the dough, mix the butter, sugar and eggs with a hand mixer (whisk). Mix the flour with the sugar, hazelnuts, vanilla sugar and baking powder and gradually stir into the butter mixture. Put the dough on a baking sheet (approx. 30 cm x 40 cm, greased and floured) and smooth it out. Spread the cherries on top.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C top / bottom heat (hot air: 160 ° C, gas: level 2-3) for approx. 25 minutes. Let the cake cool down.
  4. For the decoration, sieve the icing sugar and mix it with a little bit of the collected cherry juice, so that a thick glaze is created. Melt the chocolate. Spread the cherry glaze and chocolate on top of the cake or let drip onto it.
