Ingredients

  • 250 g sloes
  • 200 g honey
  • 700 ml rum, whiter
  • 1 vanilla pod (s)
  • 2 pinch (s) orange peel
  • 1 small cinnamon stick (s)
  • 1 star anise (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the sloes and let them drain well.
  2. Score the fruit with a sharp knife and put it in the freezer overnight.
  3. Place the fruit in a wide-necked bottle. Add honey, rum, scratched vanilla pod, orange peel, cinnamon stick and - if desired - star anise. Let the liquor steep for 2 months.
  4. After this time, filter the fruit as desired and use it as an addition to desserts, cheese and wild ham.
