Ingredients

  • 600 g sloes
  • 700 ml red wine (Merlot)
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 3 clove (s)
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 lemon (s), the thinly peeled peel it
  • 300 g honey
  • 700 ml vodka

Instructions

  1. Wash the sloes clean and drain well. Lightly pound in a mortar. Some of the stones should also be crushed, this gives the drink a pleasant aroma.
  2. Put the puree in a suitable saucepan. Add the red wine, spices and lemon peel and let it steep for 3 to 4 days in a cool place.
  3. Filter everything, then briefly bring the liquid to the boil. Let cool to 40 ° C and then stir in the honey. After cooling down completely, add the vodka.
  4. Fill into bottles and close tightly. Store in a cool and dark area.
