Instructions

  1. Bring the soy slices with the water and the vegetable stock to a boil in a small saucepan. The shredded meat absorbs the water. If there is no more water in the pot, but the shredded meat is not yet soft, add a little more water. However, once the pieces are soft enough, there should be no more water in the pot.
  2. Heat the pan with oil. Add the sliced meat and fry while turning. Then add a little more oil more often so that nothing burns. Season to taste with salt, pepper, oregano and garlic powder. Continue frying briefly on a low heat.
  3. Tastes very good with coleslaw, tzaziki and flatbread.
  4. Tip: A gyros spice mix from an oriental supermarket will do the job too.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
