Instructions

  1. Melt a little butter in a saucepan. Sweat the washed rice in it with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves for 2-3 minutes. Then add twice the amount of water (1 cup of rice = 2 cups of water, etc.) and season with salt, chilli and turmeric, stir well and try again if it is salty enough.
  2. Bring it to the boil once and then let the rice simmer over a very low heat - do not stir in between, otherwise it will be mushy!
  3. Pierce with a fork and see whether the rice has completely absorbed the water. Tastes great with chicken and fish.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
