Spicy Carrot Appetizer with Mustard, Soy Sauce and Herbs
by Editorial Staff
A savory carrot appetizer with mustard, soy sauce and herbs, perfect for a casual or festive table. This is a great alternative to Korean-style carrots, especially for those who don’t like garlic. Preparing such an appetizer is very simple. Try it!
Ingredients
Carrots – 450 g
Mustard seeds – 50 g
Soy sauce – 30 ml
Fresh dill – 30 g
Vegetable oil – 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
Sugar (optional) – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Directions
We prepare the necessary products.
Peel and wash the carrots. Then use a vegetable peeler to slice the carrots lengthwise into thin ribbons.
We wash the dill, dry it, and finely chop it.
Add dill, vegetable oil, soy sauce, and mustard seeds to the carrots.
Stir well so that each carrot ribbon is well saturated.
Add salt to taste, if necessary. Since the soy sauce is salty, I didn’t add salt. If the carrots are not sweet enough, you can add 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Mix thoroughly again. It is advisable to let the appetizer stand in the refrigerator for a while (I left it overnight).
A spicy appetizer of carrots with mustard, soy sauce, and herbs is ready, you can serve it to the table.
Bon Appetit!
