Ingredients
- 1 kg Hackepeter (Thuringian Mett)
- 1 tablespoon mustard, spicy (lion mustard)
- 100 g cheese, rated (Gouda)
- 1 roll, stale
- 2 clove (s) garlic, finely chopped
- 1 onion (s), finely chopped
- 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), only one strip each, finely chopped
- 2 egg (s)
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder, hot and sweet
- Harissa to taste, be careful, spicy!

- Finely chop the onions, garlic and pepper pieces. Soak the bun in warm water. Squeeze out the softened bun and place in a bowl. Add all other ingredients and knead everything well.
- Form meatballs from the meat dough with moistened hands and fry them in a pan until golden brown.
- Potatoes and paprika vegetables go well with this, and I always use the remains of the peppers.
- You can of course also use ground poultry.
- As a measure of the size of the meatballs, I always use a tablespoon.
