Ingredients

  • 1 kg Hackepeter (Thuringian Mett)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, spicy (lion mustard)
  • 100 g cheese, rated (Gouda)
  • 1 roll, stale
  • 2 clove (s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion (s), finely chopped
  • 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), only one strip each, finely chopped
  • 2 egg (s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, hot and sweet
  • Harissa to taste, be careful, spicy!

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the onions, garlic and pepper pieces. Soak the bun in warm water. Squeeze out the softened bun and place in a bowl. Add all other ingredients and knead everything well.
  2. Form meatballs from the meat dough with moistened hands and fry them in a pan until golden brown.
  3. Potatoes and paprika vegetables go well with this, and I always use the remains of the peppers.
  4. You can of course also use ground poultry.
  5. As a measure of the size of the meatballs, I always use a tablespoon.
