Ingredients

  • 125 g potato (s), peeled
  • 1 large onion (s), very finely chopped
  • 70 g wholerain spelled flour
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 125 ml milk (whole milk)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 40 g butter, melt
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 2 splashes Maggi, possibly more
  • 3 drops Tabasco

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes and then mash them. It is best to chop the onions very finely in a lightning chopper. Mix all ingredients together and use a hand mixer to form a smooth dough.
  2. Season to taste.
  3. Let the dough soak for about 30 minutes. Bake in the waffle iron and consume while still warm. You get about 6 waffles from the batter. I calculate two per person if there are still side dishes.
  4. A quark dip and salad go well with this. With Hollandaise sauce, the waffles are a (calorie) dream. We mostly eat meatloaf and cauliflower with hollandaise sauce.
  5. You can also replace part of the potatoes with carrots. Very tasty and even healthier!
