Instructions

  1. Thaw the strawberries in a saucepan. Then add 1 tablespoon of water and heat everything on the stove. Peel the banana and mash it with a fork. Add the banana, chia seeds, lemon zest and vanilla to the strawberries and remove the pan from the heat.
  2. Mix in finely chopped basil leaves (approx. 5 leaves) if desired. Basil goes perfectly with strawberries and gives the jam an additional fine note.
  3. Finely puree the mixture with a hand blender and pour into a small mason jar. Let the jam rest for at least 30 minutes, better 24 hours, so that the chia seeds can swell.
  4. The jam will keep chilled for about 1 week.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
