Ingredients

  • 1 kg tomato (s)
  • 1 bell pepper (s)
  • 750 ml water
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable broth, or beef broth, instant
  • some basil
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • turmeric
  • cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the tomatoes, remove the stalk. Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and stalk and cut into eighths.
  2. Bring the tomatoes and peppers to the boil with the water, the stock and the spices and simmer for about 20 minutes on a low level.
  3. Pass through a sieve, return to the pot and briefly bring to the boil again. If necessary, thicken with a little starch mixed with a little water.
  4. Serve with basil.
