Tuna, Tomato and Zucchini Kebab

Extremely healthy and delicious, tuna looks more like meat than fish. The French even call tuna “sea veal”. Tuna on skewers with lemon juice and aromatic spices is perfect for grilling in a pan. Tuna skewers look beautiful thanks to the bright tomatoes and zucchini.

Ingredients

  • Tuna steaks – 300 g
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice – 100 g
  • Olive oil – 100 g
  • A mixture of spices (preferably Chinese seasoning “5 spices”: cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, anise, Sichuan pepper) – 1 teaspoon. or to taste
  • Red onion – 1 pc. (100 g)
  • Cherry tomatoes – 12 pcs. (180 g)
  • Small zucchini – 2 pcs. (300 g)
  • Cilantro greens to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in cold water for half an hour. Chop the tuna into large pieces and toss with lemon juice, spices and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Cut the onion into quarters, cut the zucchini into circles.
  3. Make small kebabs by alternating tuna, tomato, onion and zucchini slices on skewers.
  4. Grill the tuna skewers in a highly preheated cast iron grill pan for about 5 minutes on each side. Sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the skewers and serve.
