Ingredients

  • 800 g sauerkraut, canned
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 200 g cheese, rated Emmentaler
  • 125 ml red wine
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for the baking dish
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Put the canned sauerkraut in a sieve and wash well under water. Grease a baking dish with butter and pour in the sauerkraut loosely. Peel the onion and cut into cubes. Heat the oil in a saucepan and let the onion cubes become translucent.
  2. Fry the minced meat until it is crumbly, then deglaze with the red wine and add the tomato paste, season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce reduce a little. In the meantime, grate the cheese. Spread the minced meat on the sauerkraut in the middle and sprinkle with cheese. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees circulating air or 200 degrees top and bottom heat. Bake the baking dish on the 2nd rail from the bottom for approx. 20 minutes.
