Bread Pudding

Pudding is a traditional English dish. There are many recipes for a variety of puddings. Here’s an easy-to-make bread pudding recipe that turns stale bread into a great breakfast or delicious dessert.

Ingredients

  • Raisins – 100 g
  • Rum – 50 ml
  • White stale bread – 250 g
  • Butter – 100 g + for lubrication
  • Milk – 1 l
  • Sugar – 170 g
  • Eggs – 6 pcs.
  • Yolks – 3 pcs.
  • Vanilla sugar – 10 g
  • Ground cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5-1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Pour 100 grams of raisins with 50 grams of rum and set aside to swell. Cut 250 grams of white stale bread into cubes with a side of 1 centimeter. Put on a baking sheet, pour with 100 grams of melted butter, mix slightly. We send it to the oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the finished bread from the oven.
  2. Pour a liter of milk into a saucepan, add 85 grams of sugar, put on fire, and bring it almost to a boil. Break 6 eggs and 3 yolks into a large bowl, add 85 grams of sugar, 10 grams of vanilla sugar, mix well. Without stopping stirring, pour the hot milk in a thin stream, stir until a homogeneous mass is obtained, filter if necessary.
  3. Add prepared bread to the bowl. Drain the rum from the raisins and add the raisins to the bowl. Add 0.5-1 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, stir and set aside for at least one hour. After an hour, grease a deep baking sheet with butter and pour the prepared mixture into a baking sheet.
  4. We put a baking sheet in a water bath and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for 45-50 minutes. Take out the finished bread pudding from the oven and serve it hot or cold, with ice cream, with cream, or as an independent dish.
